The local fire department is passing along safety tips for this Family Day.
With Monday being the holiday, officials with the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Department is passing along some safety tips for families.
They are asking everyone to develop a home fire escape plan, show everyone the two ways out of a room and choose a meeting place outside such as a tree or a lamppost.
They also note that it is the law to have working smoke alarms on every story of a home and to have working carbon monoxide alarms outside all sleeping areas.
