Patients across South Muskoka will be receiving high-quality breast screening from the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.
The $500,000 in digital equipment was funded by the hospital’s foundation and the auxiliary. This will enhance breast imaging for breast cancer screening and diagnosis in both men and women.
This new technology will include Stereo-tactic capability for completing biopsies in the future, as well as 3D breast imaging to assist when treating patients with random findings or breast tissue.
There’s close to 3,000 mammograms completed yearly at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.
