Police are releasing details on a car chase that shut down Wellington Street.
On Thursday afternoon, Bracebridge OPP stopped a driver at a RIDE check on the Highway 118 off-ramp from Highway 11. Police say when the driver was asked to pull to the side of the road he took off and led officers on a chase to Wellington Street before crashing into another car.
Officers arrested a 47-year-old Orillia man and charged him with impaired driving, dangerous driving and flight from police. He’s been held for a bail hearing in Bracebridge.
