The OPP is reminding everyone to be wary of fraudulent calls.
This comes after police are hearing claims the Canada Revenue Agency has been calling local residents asking for their Social Insurance Numbers. Constable Catherine Yarmel says that the Canada Revenue Agency wouldn’t be asking for information they should already have on file.
Yarmel also says you should contact the Canada Revenue Agency if you have any questions about your taxes. If you think you’re a victim of fraud, call the police.
