A rainy day didn’t keep runners away from the annual CIBC Run for the Cure in Bracebridge.
Survivors, fighters and supporters came together on Sunday to take part in the breast cancer fundraising event.
Wendy Shirtliff is a cancer survivor and had the opportunity to share her story with the rest of the runners.
Shirtliff says five years later she’s made a lot of positive changes in her life and has since had another son.
She was very emotional as she retold her story to the group before the run kicked off.
Hundreds of runners showed up for the event this year.
