Huntsville launches community fund project to support new pickleball courts

The Town of Huntsville has launched a new Community Fund project aimed at raising money for the construction of two new pickleball courts, in response to a growing interest in the sport across the community.

With the support of council, the Pickleball Court Project gives the community an opportunity to financially contribute to the development of the new courts and show their support for expanding recreational amenities in Huntsville.

The Pickleball Court Project was created following a deputation from the Huntsville Pickleball Club at a council meeting in July, where members requested municipal support for additional pickleball courts. An initial fundraising target of $200,000 has been set. Once this target is reached, officials said council will consider potential locations, installation costs, ongoing operational expenses, and impacts on future town budgets.

The total cost of installing the courts will be funded entirely through community donations, with the final fundraising target to be determined once overall project costs are confirmed.

If the project does not reach its overall funding goal, donated funds will be redirected to other community-based Town of Huntsville projects.
