The Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce will host its End of Summer Patio Party fundraiser event at the Canvas Brewery upper patio on Sept. 10 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Halley Clover, executive Director with the chamber, said the event is a way to celebrate the end of summer for all businesses operating in the area.
“Every business owner and tourism operator worked so hard throughout the summer, and were busy hosting everyone,” said Clover. “So, this is really for our members and non-members, anyone’s welcome to just give back and to enjoy our patios because we probably haven’t got to too much while we’ve been working all summer.”
She said the funds collected will help support the chamber’s programming, which involves continuing to support local businesses.
“We’re working on a ton of business development seminars throughout the next year, so we need funds to put those on. So, it’s a way to celebrate the end of summer, support the chamber, and support business,” she said.
The event used to be called “the end of summer dock party” before the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I know it was very well attended in the past, like over a hundred. But we’re looking to fill the patio, so whoever can come can come,” said Clover.
Clover said some of the things attendees can expect include live music, a buffet dinner from Smoke and Hot Barbecue, and casino-style games.
“There’s going to be lots to do and lots of people to chat with, so it’s going to be a fun event,” she said.
She said the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit organization and added events like this help them keep operating as well as helping local businesses thrive.
