Women’s centre changes locations

GRAVENHURST, ON-The Gravenhurst Women’s Centre is changing locations to a local church.

The centre is set to move to the Trinity United Church in Gravenhurst in approximately two weeks and will reopen on January 20th.

The reason for the move is because the landlord is looking to refurbish the building.

In an interview with the MyMuskokaNow.com newsroom, Volunteer Dorri Verbrugt said that she is excited to move to the new location and will have additional benefits compared to their current location. “When we move to the church we will have elevators and this is big because we have had a few mobility issues in the past,” said Verbrugt.

The centre has been operating for about five years and has helped support women by hosting workshops and provide a supportive community.

During the moving process, all of the centre’s services will be held on hold but will be available this week and next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. if you are interested in learning more, you can visit the website here.
