Swimming advisory posted for Muskoka Bay Park beach

GRAVENHURST, ON- High bacteria levels have led to a warning for swimmers in Gravenhurst.

According to an announcement from the town’s municipal government, beach water samples collected on Tuesday by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit showed bacteria in numbers that could increase swimmer’s risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose or throat infections or stomach illness.

If anyone chooses to swim during the swimming advisory, they should avoid dunking their head or swallowing the water.

Warning signage will be posted at the beach.

The town will supply updates as they are available.
