Man’s body recovered from Lake Muskoka

GRAVENHURST, ON – A man’s body has been recovered from Lake Muskoka at the public beach in Gravenhurst.

Bracebridge OPP and the Gravenhurst Fire Department and Muskoka Paramedic Services were called to the scene around 4:00pm.

The man had been on a swim toy with a woman and child when they went under water showing signs of distress.

The woman and child were pulled from the lake and taken to hospital. They are expected to recover.

The search continued for the missing man, with the OPP Marine, Aviation and Underwater Search and Recovery Units all brought to the scene.

Just after 6:00pm the body of the 37-year-old Brampton man was pulled from the water. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

His identity is not being released until the next of kin have been notified.
