Gravenhurst looking for Senior of the Year nominees

If you live in Gravenhurst and know an outstanding senior, take note.

The town is seeking out candidates to put forward for the province’s Ontario Senior of the Year award.

Since 1994 municipalities have honoured one outstanding local senior.

To be nominated they must be over the age of 65 and have provided social, cultural or civic enrichment to his or her community.

Seniors considered for this honour may have been involved in areas such as the arts, literature, community service, the environment, fitness, and humanitarian activities.

Nominations have to be in by Tuesday, April 9th at noon.

Council will then be forwarding its recommendation on April 16th.

The chosen nominee will be provided an Ontario Government certificate presented at the Mayor’s Tea on June 4th.
