Next week is Peace Week at YMCAs across the country.  For the 30th anniversary of the event, our local YMCAs invites people of all ages to reflect on peace, to talk, and to take action, individually and with others.  VP of Philanthropy and Brand Management, at the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka Jeanette Heywood says the idea of trying to attain world peace can feel overwhelming simply because it’s such a large-scale goal but if you look at ways to contribute to peace in your own home and community and gradually work up to bigger national and international issues, it becomes manageable and attainable.

Visit the YMCA’s website for information on Acts of Peace and Peace Week activities taking place in our centres.  YMCA also celebrates Peace Week with an hour long Yoga for Peace which will be held in their health and fitness centres and are open to public participation.  Here in Parry Sound, the Peace Yoga will be held Monday, November 17th at 5:30pm, Tuesday, November 18th at 10:00am & Wednesday, November 19th at 11:00am.
