New Cruise Boats for Huntsville beginning journey in Ottawa Next week

Recalling a bygone era, people visiting the Muskoka area will now be able to travel by boat from Huntsville to Port Sydney. Lady Muskoka Cruises owner Stephen Wyllie has confirmed that two 58-foot tour boats similar to the style seen in London and Paris, with glass roofs and a shallow draft, will be making the trip from Ottawa to Huntsville this coming Tuesday.

“It’s a huge undertaking, I don’t think people understand how huge it is,” he says of the twelve-day journey from Ottawa.

Lady Muskoka Cruises currently features double-decker style cruises on Lake Muskoka, but he says the cruise out of Huntsville, will go through the Brunel locks and on to some of the most popular lakes in the region.

“The boats are 17 feet wide and the locks are 20 feet wide, so it is the perfect width to get through there,” he reveals.

He says it will give those people visiting the Huntsville area a chance to get on the water and see some great sites that have not been enjoyed through public transportation in decades.

No cost has been set for the tour rides that are scheduled to start in mid-August.

The cruises will leave the public dock in Huntsville and will feature refreshments on its journey through the various waterways to Port Sydney.
