Tree sap spill causes major detour for drivers using 400 northbound in Muskoka

Drivers planning to use the 400 to get north through Muskoka will need to change routes.

Highway 400 Northbound is closed at Gibson River Bridge, between Muskoka Road 38 and South Gibson Lake Road after a truck crashed this morning. It will remain closed for the rest of the day due to a tree sap spill from the tanker truck.

There are no detours in the area, and the OPP Is advising drivers coming north to take the Highway 11 exit off the 400 if you’re headed towards Parry Sound or further. Drivers can exit at Bethune Drive in Gravenhurst or Highway 118 in Bracebridge to get on Muskoka Road 169 and back to the 400.
