‘Pay it Forward Muskoka’ grant is now open for applications

Do you have an idea that would help improve your community? The Pay it Forward Muskoka program is ready to receive applications from local community organizations.
The grant program is said to give up to $2,500 to organizations who feel their mission helps improve the lives of residents in cottage country.
The goal of the program is to strengthen communities across Muskoka by funding local projects that create positive change and enhance community support and leadership.
Rick Williams, Commissioner of Community Services with the District Municipality of Muskoka is saying ‘Pay It Forward’ has invested an average of $32,500 towards community initiatives. He also said that programs that revolve around arts, recreation, and community development should apply for the grant.
In 2017, over $40,000 was given to 33 different organizations. Recipients like Archers in Muskoka, received money for equipment and course upgrades that cater to community members of all ages. Lochiel Pipes and Drums were given $2500 to sustain the program that offers pro-bono performances and free music lessons
The program is now open and applications will be received until noon on April 13th.
