Almaguin Highlands Secondary School will have a full senior boys Nordic Ski team for the first time thanks to a generous donation. A retired teacher from a high school in Mississauga recently donated 17 pairs of skate skis, 21 pairs of boots, 19 sets of poles, a full waxing kit and forms. Coach of the Almaguin Highlands Nordic Ski team Lisa Rogers says all the large and small things needed to run a strong ski program came together because of this donation. Rogers says they are unbelievably grateful. Member of the Almaguin ski team Zac Ouellete says there were students who wanted to ski but couldn’t because there wasn’t enough equipment. Now they can.
