GHS students tap into tech knowledge to upgrade Gravenhurst seniors

Students in Gravenhurst are using their tech knowledge to learn valuable leadership skills.

Gravenhurst High School recently wrapped up the first run of the Cyber Seniors Program in partnership with the Gravenhurst Manor. The kids were paired up with senior residents to teach them all about technology and social media. Teacher Taryn Gray says the program was a great success.

Gray says this program has helped the students learn valuable leadership skills and build their self-confidence as well. She says the students always seemed excited to head over to the manor for the tech teaching sessions. The kids will be visiting the manor one last time this week for a party to celebrate with their senior students.

As for the future of this program, Gray says the school’s principal will be reporting the success of the inaugural run to the Trillium Lakelands District School Board.

She says plans are already in place to run this program in the next school year.
