French Immersion will not be coming to Gravenhurst.
The Trillium Lakelands District School Board has decided not to move forward with offering the program in 2018. The group Parents for French Gravenhurst says there were 45 student forms submitted to TLDSB for the program. According to the group, TLDSB board of trustee officials debated for about an hour and ended with a 5-4 vote against the program. Group officials say this is not the end of this discussion.
Currently, the closest French Immersion program for Gravenhurst parents is offered at Monck Public School in Bracebridge.
