Two men in Muskoka fined for illegal fisher trapping
Two men are facing fines for illegal animal trapping.
According to conservation officers, the two Gravenhurst men worked together to trap 13 fishers illegally over a two year period. Ten of the fishers were sold at auctions before the men were investigated. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry took the remaining three. Both pleaded guilty to the charges and have been fined over $1,000.
Officials are reminding hunters you have to fill out a season-end harvest report at the end of every year. If you have any information on illegal hunting you’re asked to call the MNRF Tipline at 1-800-222-TIPS.
