A significant detour in Georgian Bay Township is being extended another month.

Construction on White’s Falls Road near Big Chute was expected to be wrapped up by next week. But, district officials say construction has been delayed until December 15th because of site conditions. Crews have been working on replacing a set of twin culverts that have deteriorated beyond repair. District officials say if the culverts were left any longer they could have caused major damage to the road. The district will be working with the contractor to have this work wrapped up as soon as possible.

The closure is set up between Trillium Lane and Arts Lane. You can find a detailed detour map here.
