OPP says serious injuries in crashes are preventable when you buckle up
A seatbelt can mean the difference between life and death.
Bracebridge OPP is sending out this message after a man was seriously injured in a recent crash in Gravenhurst. Officials say the victim was not wearing a seatbelt.
Constable Samantha Bigley says this incident is a reminder about the need to buckle up.
If you’re not wearing a seatbelt you can be fined over $200 whether you’re the driver or the passenger. However, drivers are responsible for making sure anyone under 16 in the vehicle is buckled up.
