If you’re living in Big Chute you’re likely going to be taking a pretty large detour.
The District of Muskoka has closed Muskoka Road 34 between Arts Lane and Trillium Lane near Big Chute for construction. Crews need to replace two aging culverts on the road that are quickly falling apart.
Depending on where you’re coming from the detour could add about 70 km to your drive. The detour runs along Upper Big Chute Road, Quarry Road and Highway 400. District staff has met with emergency officials to make sure EMS and fire crews won’t be held up.
Construction is expected to last about five weeks.
