Moose FM radiothon in support of Huntsville Hospital Foundation raises over $26K

A 12-hour radiothon is helping the Huntsville Hospital get the equipment it needs. On Friday, Moose FM and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation teamed up to raise money to buy equipment for the hospital, and just over $26,000 was raised. Donations, support from sponsors and raffle ticket sales all helped to make it possible.

Executive Director of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Katherine Craine, says these kinds of fundraisers are important.

Craine says some of the equipment that money raised during the radiothon will help to buy includes ICU beds, a portable ultrasound machine, vital signs monitors and an operating room table.

She says the foundation looks at the list, and buys equipment for the different departments based on priority.

The foundation is still looking for seasonal residents to join its Cottage Cares program, as Emergency Room visits spike during peak tourism months.
