Huntsville youth sleeping in cardboard boxes this weekend

Huntsville’s Main Street is going to have some overnight guests this weekend. The local youth council is raising awareness to homelessness in Muskoka by sleeping in cardboard boxes on Friday night, at the Civic Centre Square. Six members of the council will have cardboard, tarps, and sleeping bags.

President Marly Hogue, a grade 12 Huntsville High School student, says this is an issue for the district, and they want to raise awareness and end the stigma surrounding youth homelessness.

The event kicks off at 5:30pm on December 23rd, and supporters are welcome to drop by.
