District of Muskoka council is figuring out how homeowners were being overcharged on their water bills. Over 150 residents were paying too much on their bills, some for as many as 20 years. Councillor Lori-Lynn Giaschi-Pacini says they don’t know how this happened in the first place.
And, she says they don’t have a plan to fix it just yet. One option being pitched was to pay back one or three years of the overcharged fees, but majority of council agreed that wasn’t enough. This issue will come back to the table at a later meeting.
