The YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka is joining a national movement known as Giving Tuesday. It’s happening on November 29th, and is aimed at encouraging the community to give back to the charities and causes they support.
The Y has a fundraising goal of $6,500 on Giving Tuesday, and says all donations will stay in our local communities.
Brian Shelley, Vice President of Philanthropy, Brand and Community Development at the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, says when you give to the Y, you are investing in a healthier community. He says every dollar donated on Giving Tuesday, and throughout the year, goes directly to supporting programs that improve the health of individuals regardless of their age, gender, race, religion, or ability to pay.
