GHS students take a walk on the wild side at Algonquin Park

Gravenhurst High School is giving students a hands-on learning experience at Algonquin Park.

During October, 90 students travelled to the park to check out the natural history and forestry practices.

Teacher Gillian Humphries says students were able to get a first-hand look at the unique and ecological features of the park.

She says students also took a walk on the Spruce Bog trail and learned about the natural history of the park from one of the official naturalists.

The students also had an opportunity to check out the Visitor’s Centre and explore the exhibits at the Logging Museum.
