Muskoka Shoebox Project hopeful for another successful year of donations

After a successful first run, the Muskoka Shoebox Project is back and looking for donations.
Organizers with the project collect shoe boxes that have been filled with items that can help bring a better Christmas to a woman in crisis or need.
Coordinator Penny Burns says one of the best items in these boxes last year was the personal notes written to the recipient.
Burns says their original goal last year was to receive 50 boxes and she and her partners were overwhelmed when they received over 350.
This year they are hoping to break that record as the group branches out to Gravenhurst and Huntsville to receive these special boxes.
Organizers request you fill a box with about $50 worth of new items.
Boxes will be distributed to organizations like The Salvation Army, Muskoka Women’s Advocacy Group, Muskoka Victim Services and others.
Empty shoe boxes can be picked up at either of the Becker Shoes locations in Bracebridge and Huntsville.

You can find a list of ideas and more details about the Shoebox Project here.
