We may not have gotten a severe thunderstorm on Monday afternoon, but heavy winds did bring down a hydro pole.
Lakeland Power crews were called out to Woodward Street after the strong winds caused damage to trees and power lines.
A pole had been brought down with power lines on the ground.
The outage affected about 50 residents and crews worked into the early morning hours to repair the damage and get power restored.

Lakeland Power officials are using this instance as an example of the danger of downed power lines.
On its Twitter feed the power company warned downed lines could be energized and you should stay at least 10 metres away.
