BMLSS students performing Grease at the Rene Caisse

Students at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School are bringing back and old classic for a new audience.

On Thursday the school will be hosting the first of three musical performances of Grease.

This will be the first time in seven years the school has put on a musical, and the first time ever that students will be taking advantage of the Rene Caisse Theatre for a production like this.

Drama Teacher Claire Imrie says she picked Grease because she felt it was something the students could really connect with.

Imrie says Grease also provides the opportunity to have a large cast with quite a few students having solo opportunities.

She adds there are a lot of talented kids at the school so she was happy to give them all a chance to show off their talents equally.

The students will have an opportunity to show off the musical for their peers at a special school showing on Thursday afternoon.

Imrie says that show has already been sold out.

Grease kicks off on Thursday evening at 7:30pm, with a second show Friday at 7:30pm and a final show on Saturday at 2:00pm.

You can get tickets at the Rene Caisse box office.
