A few St. Dom’s students got a first-hand look at skilled trades during an event at St. Lawrence College in Cornwall.
Five students travelled to the college to take part in the Eastern Ontario Skills Competition.
Oliver Orifino and Noah Egnatis competed in team carpentry, Patrick Pobojewski entered into graphic design and John Hildebrandt and Nick Budd took part in video broadcast.
While they didn’t place in the competition they still did very well, according to Guidance Counsellor Jennifer Starrat.
The skills competition promotes skilled trades as an alternative to traditional post-secondary education.
