Bracebridge keeping track of water flowing from north

It may not be as bad as 2013, but there is still quite a lot of flood water affecting roads and properties in Bracebridge.

Director of Public Works for the town Walter Schmid says crews have been at work since 3:30am dealing with flooded roads in the area.

Currently, there are only a few roads affected including Germania, Campbell and River Street.

Schmid says town officials have met with an Emergency Control Group to discuss river levels and the use of sandbags.

For private properties, there are sandbags available at Fowler Construction in Bracebridge.

If you want to fill your own bags, there are empty bags and piles of sand at the Municipal Office on Taylor Court, but you’ll need to bring your own shovel.

Schmid says updates will be provided as the town continues to monitor water flow coming from Huntsville.

The Emergency Control Group will meet once again on Monday morning at 11:00am to further assess water levels.
