Syrian Refuge Bracebridge facing hold up from government to bring families to Canada

Rotary Club is prepared to welcome two new families to Bracebridge, but there is a bit of a hold up.
After a successful fundraising campaign, the club is now able to support two large Syrian refugee families.
But Rotarian Peter Rickard says the feds have put a hold on new families coming in.
Rickard says he is hopeful this pause won’t last long as the two families they have chosen are desperately looking to start a better life.
As the group waits to welcome their families they are raising their final funds needed to make sure all needs are covered.
St. Dominic Catholic High School will be holding a special dinner on April 1st, featuring middle-east cuisine, with all funds going to the rotary club fundraising efforts.
