Gas Prices Rise as Summer Heats Up

As the temperature rises, so do Muskoka’s gas prices.

On March 31st, gas was approximately 98 cents a litre, but with the transition to summer, gas prices are now sitting just under 1.20.

Summer trips, watercrafts, and even filling up your lawnmower all contribute to gas prices soaring during the season, but wholesale prices have jumped almost 4 cents a litre in the last few weeks due to big oil companies citing their lack of competition.

Despite all the conflict in the oil sands, gas prices are sitting at roughly the same price as 2014 at this time.
