Natural causes cited in death of Beaver Creek inmate

Natural causes are being cited as the reason for an aging Beaver Creek inmate’s recent death. Prison officials say that inmate Ronald Victor Varcoe died yesterday at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.

At the time of his death, the 71 year old had been serving an indeterminate sentence since April 24th, 1991, for first degree murder. His next of kin have been notified of his death.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
