Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person seen in newly released surveillance footage related to the disappearance of a Bracebridge man three years ago.
According to police, on Sept. 12, 2023, Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a call from a person who expressed concerns about the well-being of 38-year-old Daniel Holden.
Police said Holden was initially believed to have been in the Southwood Road area of Gravenhurst on Aug. 12, 2023.
Steve Martell, Detective Inspector with the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, said recently obtained surveillance footage shows him at an Esso gas station on Ecclestone Drive in Bracebridge that same day.
Martell is asking for the public’s help in identifying the male driver seen in the video, who may have been the last person to see Holden.
“While the surveillance footage and images are of limited quality, we ask members of the public to focus on the male’s sideburns and jawline, as these features may assist in identifying him,” said Martell.
Police described Holden as 5’6” with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black sweater with white stripes on the sleeves and black pants.
According to police, Holden has been known to drive a gold 2002 Mazda MPV minivan bearing Ontario plate CKXC 268. He has ties to Bracebridge, Gravenhurst, Barrie and the Greater Toronto Area. Police suspect foul play in his disappearance.
The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information in relation to this investigation is asked to contact the Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
