The Town of Gravenhurst has launched a survey to gather feedback as part of its Official Plan review.
“This is an important opportunity for people in our community,” Mayor Heidi Lorenz said. “On behalf of council, I encourage everyone to take part in the survey.”
The survey launch follows the Town’s start of its Official Plan review in early May, when it partnered with a consulting firm to help facilitate the review process.
According to the town, the survey responses will help staff and consultants create a new Official Plan that will guide how Gravenhurst grows and thrives over the next 30 years.
Officials said the plan is intended to serve as a roadmap to 2056, outlining a long-term vision for where homes and businesses can be developed as well as consider community transportation needs.
Additionally, officials said the plan will determine how the town will protect lakes and natural spaces.
“The document will influence all future aspects of development in our community and for that reason it is imperative that people share their views with us,” said Adam Ager, manager of planning.
Officials said the town’s Official Plan also aims to align with the District of Muskoka’s Official Plan and its broader priorities.
The Town said their goal is to have the new Official Plan in place by July 2027.
The survey is open until Oct. 13. For more information or to complete the survey, click here.
