Bala Falls hydro project conditions approved by District Council

A District Council decision this week means Swift River Energy Ltd. can move ahead with its Bala Falls project as long as strict conditions are met. At issue were recent amendments made to the required entrance and roadway occupation permits. District Council heard from Swift River’s Vice President Frank Belerique, who confirmed the conditions will be met. Council approved the conditions this week despite calls by the project’s opponents for councillors not to weigh in on the issue because of a perceived conflict of interest.
