Muskoka Maple Festival returns to downtown Huntsville this weekend

Downtown Huntsville is set to come alive this weekend as Muskoka Maple Festival takes over Main Street.

The family-friendly event runs April 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., celebrating the peak of the maple harvest season in Muskoka. Organizers say the festival will showcase a wide range of maple-themed fun, including food, activities, vendors, and live entertainment.

A highlight of the day will be the “maple marketplace,” where local syrup producers will line the street, offering visitors a chance to meet sugarbush owners and learn about the craft and history behind their products. Local restaurants, bakeries, and cafés will also be in attendance, serving a variety of maple-inspired culinary offerings.

Community members can enjoy a variety of attractions, including a pancake breakfast, maple taffy making, a wood carving demonstration, live music, and street performances. The game zone will offer activities for all ages, featuring mini golf, cornhole, ladder ball, giant Jenga, and a drumming circle.

Members of the Huntsville Fire Department will also be present, giving attendees the opportunity to learn about fire safety and get an up-close look at their fire truck.

The Kiwanis Sap Run will offer children aged three to 13 a choice between a 500-metre or one-kilometre run through the downtown core, with proceeds supporting local children in need. Registration includes a free pancake breakfast.

The Town of Huntsville is advising residents of several temporary road closures in effect throughout the day, including portions of Main Street East, West Street South, West Street North, North Street, and King Cresent. Barricades and signage will be in place, and motorists should expect delays near the event.
