Lake of Bays launches survey to gather input on Logging Chain Lodge

The Township of Lake of Bays has launched a survey as part of the first phase of public engagement for the recently purchased Logging Chain Lodge property in Dwight.

“This is a new chapter for Dwight,” said Mayor Terry Glover. “Residents helped set the direction through our plans and strategies, and now they can help shape the design and features of this new park. Community input will be considered alongside technical analysis and Council direction.”

The property was acquired in late August of 2025, and officials said the acquisition of the well-known landmark, located across from the Dwight beach and boat launch, represents a strategic opportunity to meet the evolving needs of the Dwight community.

The survey will help the township make a decision on the future of the 6.86-acre property, located within walking distance of downtown Dwight and accessible from both Highway 60 and Dwight Beach Road. According to officials, the site offers a rare mix of visibility, a central location, and proximity to the water.

Officials said the township plans to hire a consultant in late 2026 to support the full planning and design process based on community feedback.

The survey will be open until March 13. For more information, click here.
