Parry Sound-Muskoka MP Tony Clement says Connecting Canadians will help almost 280,000 Canadians who don’t have internet at all or have a slow connection. Clement says government is investing $305-million, which being collected from services providers.

Clement says having access to high-speed Internet helps create new jobs as well as new innovative products and businesses.

The investment is happening over the course of three years. Meanwhile, Clement does admit that there is broadband gaps in our riding, which have made it difficult to service in the past.

The government is giving Canadians and service providers the opportunity to share their thoughts about communities that could be eligible for funding through the Connecting Canadians website.
