NNDSB hosts community deputations for Burk's Falls Area Accommodation Review

The Near North District School Board is hosting a Community Deputations meeting tonight. The meeting will focus on hearing the public’s thoughts on the Accommodation Review Committee’s final report about what should happen to schools in Almaguin. This includes the ARC’s recommendation to close M.A. Wittick School and moving Kindergarten to Grade 6 students to Land of Lakes Public School in Burk’s Falls and the Board’s recommendation to close both M.A. Wittick and Magnetawan Public Schools and send the Grade 7 and 8 students to Almaguin Highlands Secondary School. The meeting starts at 6:30pm at Land of Lakes. The board will then make their final decision in an open session on June 24^th.
