Wind chill warning continues across Parry Sound Muskoka

A severe wind chill warning continues early this morning across Parry Sound and Muskoka. Bitterly cold Arctic air has established itself across Southern and Eastern Ontario while a low pressure system near the Lower Great Lakes continues to generate moderate northeasterly winds. Environment Canada says the combination of winds and Arctic air continues to produced severe wind chill with values ranging from minus 30 to minus 40.

Conditions are expected to improve early this afternoon as temperatures rise and wind becomes light. Everyone is urged to dress warmly and cover any exposed skin as much as possible when heading outdoors as frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes in these bitterly cold temperatures.
