UPDATE: Highway 400 NB lanes closed as collision is investigated

Update #2: All lanes are now open.

Update: One lane of Highway 400 northbound at Port Severn Road has been re-opened to traffic, however not to wide load vehicles. The OPP is asking wide load vehicles to avoid the area until all lanes are reopen.

Getting to the cottage today may take a little longer than normal. The northbound lanes of Highway 400 at Port Severn Road are closed, as a truck involved in a crash is on the road. The collision happened at about 8:30 this morning, when the driver of a cement truck driving north lost control, and the truck ended up on its side.

The Southern Georgian Bay OPP says the 49-year-old driver from Midland was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and an update will be sent out when the highway is reopen.
