SMCDSB celebrates higher than provincial average graduation rates

The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board is quite pleased with its own recent results in graduation rates.
Compared to the provincial average for four and five year rates, the Catholic board was nearly five percent higher in each category.
Board Representative Pauline Stevenson says there is a lot of pride within the organization.
Not only has the board managed to beat the Ontario average, but it has continued to grow its own rates over the past few years as well.
Board officials see programs like the Specialist High Skills Major, dual credits and expanded cooperative education playing a key role in this increase.
