Ongoing Cleanup Continues on Lake of Bays after a Large Amount of Fuel Found in the Lake

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is working hard at cleaning out the area on Lake of Bays affected by the recent fuel spill.

On November 15th, 2,000 litres of diesel fuel spilt into the lake near Osborne Point from a generator that was leaking gas. Lindsay Davidson with the ministry says their focus is cleaning up the area as quick as possible.

He says after recently speaking with staff, clean up is continuing.

He says the shoreline was mostly affected by the gas spill. The owner of the property has taken the appropriate steps to clean out the area.
