About seven per cent of Muskoka’s population is made up of immigrants.
This comes from the latest round of data released from the Stats Can 2016 census. Just over 4,500 residents are from another country. Between 2011 and 2016, about 200 immigrants made Muskoka their home after coming to Canada. Many of these immigrants came from countries like the Philippines, South Korea, Ukraine and Australia.
Overall, the majority of Muskoka’s immigrant population is made up of people from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, the UK and the US.
