Health officials say the hot week means stay inside and hydrated

It’s going to be hot in Muskoka, much hotter than usual for this time of year.
Because of this, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is warning residents to be prepared for the excessive heat.
Health officials say its important to stay hydrated, stay cool and try to stay inside if you can for the majority of the day.
Students outside should have access to water and shade and teachers and parents should be aware if a child starts to show signs of heat stroke.
This includes suddenly becoming lazy or tired, experiencing dizziness or a sudden loss of appetite.
If anyone shows any of these signs while in the sun you should try to get them into a cool place immediately and get in touch with a doctor or medical professional.
Temperatures may stay in the mid-thirties with the humidity until Friday when the cooler weather comes back.
There is also a chance we’ll see some thunderstorms to break up the heat today.
