New council officially sitting at district-level table in Muskoka

Some new faces are now sitting around the district table in Muskoka.

The new council was officially sworn in on last night, kicking off the next term for Muskoka’s district municipality. New members include Councillor Rick Maloney representing Bracebridge, Tim Withey for Huntsville as well as new mayors for Georgian Bay and Lake of Bay Townships, Peter Koetsier and Terry Glover.

Gravenhurst Mayor Paul Kelly and Muskoka Lakes Mayor Phil Harding will both return to the district table in their new municipal positions.

John Klinck will return as chair of the district after he ran uncontested for the position internally.

The first council meeting of the new term runs on Monday at 7:00pm.
