Tim Hortons Camp Day returns on July 16 with 100 per cent of hot and iced coffee sales going directly to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
Jennifer McFadyen, owner of Huntsville Tim Hortons, said the event will take place at every Tim Hortons across Canada and the U.S.
“They have a selection process for kids in underserved communities and low-income communities to help send those kids to camp to gain valuable life skills to help them reach their full potential, find jobs, lead fulfilling lives, gain leadership, teamwork, skills, all that kind of stuff,” said McFadyen.
Last year, McFadyen said Huntsville’s local Tim Hortons raised $13,140, contributing to the chain’s total of $12.8 million.
“We hope to surpass that this year and help send more deserving kids on an adventure of a lifetime,” she said, adding people can also support the cause by purchasing a Camp Day donut, Camp Day bracelet, or by simply rounding up the total on their order.
According to McFadyen, funds will also ensure the foundation continues to operate and expand its programs, including its new community school programs, to reach as many children as possible.
